Well, this is bloody fabulous! 
A fancy pants antique long guard chain. 
Fancy detailed mariner link secrions with facetted connecting rings, interspersed with sections of flat edged belcher chain. Oh, it's so good. Even the flat edge dog clip is attached with matching facetted jump rings.

Stamped and tested as 9ct gold (fairly yellow in hue, with a slightly warm tone)

Length approx 63 inches - easily enough to go around 3 times!
