When Halley's Comet passed earth in 1835, it was visible to the naked eye just after sunset, for around a month. It captured the imagination of the public, and it's image was used in jewellery to commemorate the celestial event.

This sweet brooch was one such momento, crafted in low carat gold, and set with foiled paste stones. I wonder who was wearing it on the next appearance of the Comet, in 1910? And who will be wearing it in 2061?
